Solsticio de invierno, sol y luna // Winter solstice, Sun and Moon

Hoy, día del solsticio de invierno, he conseguido un «pleno»: la foto de la puesta del sol, y la de la luna creciente, sobre el mismo sujeto – la Basílica de San Gregorio Ostiense – con una hora de diferencia.
Este fin de semana Photopills, la app que utilizo para planificar mis fotos de sol y luna, había organizado un reto por el que había que fotografiar el sol a tamaño grande, coincidiendo con el solsticio de invierno (puedes ver las imágenes subidas al reto en instagram bajo el hastag #photopillschallengebigsun).
Todo el fin de semana pendiente de la climatología sin que las nubes quisieran poner de su parte…; pero casi a última hora, en la tarde de hoy domingo, el cielo se despejó de nubes por unas horas y pude salir a intentar hacer la foto:
Lo más gracioso es que, cuando estaba ya recogiendo el equipo para marcharme a casa, me di cuenta de que en un rato tenía que ponerse la luna creciente: comprobé rápidamente dónde se pondría y a qué hora, y vi que podía intentar conseguir la foto desde un lugar situado a apenas 500m. La luna se encontraba en fase creciente inicial, a tan solo el 2,7%. Estábamos a apenas 3ºC de temperatura y no había salido abrigado para esas temperaturas, pero decidí quedarme a intentar conseguir la foto.
A decir verdad, la foto de la luna llevaba varios meses intentando conseguirla: lo había intentado ya al menos dos veces, desde distintos puntos, sin mucho éxito. En una ocasión conseguí una foto medianamente correcta, pero sabía que podía conseguir mejores resultados y no llegué a publicarla ni en redes sociales.
Finalmente he conseguido la imagen hoy, casi por casualidad, gracias al reto de fotografiar el sol. Esta es la imagen, espero que os guste:

Today, Winter Solstice day, I managed to get two very especial images: both the sun and the crescent moon setting over the same subject, the Basílica de San Gregorio Ostiense, with just one hour difference.
This weekend Photopills (the app I use to plan my moon and sun photographs) organized a sun photography challenge (you can see the images people have posted for the challenge on Instagram under the hashtag #photopillschallengebigsun).
I spent all weekend hoping for clear skies, but the weather did not cooperate… However, in the evening of today, Sunday, the sky cleared up and I rushed to the spot:
The funny part is that, when I was packing up to get back home after taking the sunset photo, I realized that the moon was probably about to set as well: I quickly checked the app and there it was: it would set in about an hour as a crescent 2.7% moon, and I could take the photo from just like 500m away from where I had taken the sun photo. The temperature had dropped down to about 3ºC by that moment and I had not brought any warm enough clothes for that, but I still decided to stay and try my luck with the moon image.
I had actually been trying to take a picture of the crescent moon setting over this very monument for quite some time now: I had tried a couple of times at least, from different spots, without great success. Once I actually got an image that was not too bad, but I knew I could get a better one, so I didn’t even publish it on social media.
I finally got the image today, almost by coincidence, thanks to the sun photography challenge. This is the photo, I hope you like it:
